A Family Business Building Quality CNC Plasma Cutting Tables
Fab-Cut® Systems is a family-owned business where René & Laurie Barnes are equal partners and they are focused in building CNC plasma cutting tables designed to meet customers needs. We are constantly working on introducing new features to make sure you have the most versatile system so you can get the most out of your new table.
René Barnes’, Fab-Cut®’s President, has over 37+ years of experience in the welding supply industry and during this time has sold many CNC systems. He has represented numerous well established brand names in the industry but found some short comings especially when it comes to customer support or pricing. A few years ago, he set out to start building their own CNC systems based on what customers were looking for and in the last 3 years René has sold hundreds of Fab-Cut® CNC cutting packages. In January 2017, René and his wife and partner, Laurie, split off Fab-Cut® Systems from their previously owned welding supply business (Corridair Inc.) and now the Fab-Cut® team have focuses on designing and building a variety of high quality systems that are now readily available.
Fab-Cut®‘s focus in designing our systems is to ensure that we offer a rugged and high quality table design that will not break your bank account.
There are many competitors who build very large and solid systems but for most of our customers don’t need a Hummer to drive to work when a Chevy truck will do just fine. Our tables are solidly built so you can rest assured that when you put a piece of metal on our tables there is no movement or jiggle when cutting at high speeds which is often caused when a table is too light of a design. This can sometimes be found in the less expensive lighter duty system currently available in the marketplace. Our systems can travel between 350 ipm – 1800 ipm depending in which motor controller package you choose with your new table.
Easy to learn CNC software with a small learning curve
We found that most of our customers had no prior experience with CNC systems and so we wanted to include an easy to learn software with a small learning curve. Most of our competitors use 2 – 3 different programs to design, layout, and then operate there CNC table which leads to confusion and frustration. When you have issues and you will have them, you will need to try and figure out whether it’s with the drawings, or with operational issues with the operation of your plasma machine.
To overcome this issue Fab-Cut® uses an all in one Flashcut CNC operating software and hardware package for most of our systems. It is a fully integrated package that greatly reduces the operator’s learning curve and allows for easier customer support so that we can easily resolve potential issues with your system. Many of the issues are drawing related and usually caused by drawing being acquired from another source like a downloaded drawing from the internet or designed by another person on a different drawing program. The Flashcut system easily allows you to import .dxf, .dwg, clipart or even direct import of G-code files and if there are any issues, you can easily spot it and correct it.
All of our standard Fab-Cut® turnkey packages come with Lenova business class laptops or all in 1 desktops, 2 licenses for the easy to use 3in1 CAD/CAM/CNC software with either the standard or Pro version, H.D. laptop tray, THC (Torch Height Control), anti-collision torch holder with proximity sensors, either a Hypertherm or Thermal Dynamics plasma of choice, plasma spare parts kit, ohmic clip, plasma air filter, HD gantry and either a modular or 1 piece prefabricated HD table. We offer both water tables and downdraft systems in our 1 piece table designs. Our Modular tables are capable of handling plate up to 2” thick and up to 6” if required on our prefabricated tables. The modular design is better for plasma and router work while our 1 piece HD table is better designed for the addition of an oxy/fuel package and pipe cutting.
