Introducing the Opal WaterJet

The Opal Waterjet cutting machine was developed to meet the demand for a smooth, high-quality finish without heat-affected zones or thermal distortion. Waterjet technology makes it possible to cut a wide range of materials—including stone, wood, plastics, and more—up to 250 mm thick.

An optional 3D cutting head expands the machine’s capabilities, enabling precise bevel cutting and more complex design possibilities.

The Opal Waterjet features a gantry-style construction made from steel closed profiles, providing exceptional stability. The rail components are protected from water exposure using protective bellows or aluminum covers, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Thanks to the relatively low weight of the gantry and precision-ground racks, the machine delivers excellent dynamic performance. High-precision motors further enhance accuracy, enabling precise and reliable positioning during operation.

The Technology

The state-of-the-art Eckert I-Vision Controller is a high-quality industrial control system featuring a touchscreen made with Corning® Gorilla® Glass for enhanced durability. Its powerful components and robust construction ensure the reliable operation of the Onyx machine.

The intuitive interface and advanced proprietary software allow users to take full advantage of the machine’s capabilities. As a standalone unit, the controller offers exceptional operator comfort and safety, enabling users to monitor both the cutting process and controller functions simultaneously.

The Water Table

The Opal Waterjet cutting machine is equipped with a robust water table featuring a double grid system. Its steel construction, with optional full tinning, provides excellent durability and resistance to corrosion. The table is built as a separate, independent structure, ensuring maximum stability and smooth, vibration-free operation.

2D Cutting Head

The 2-axis Accustream waterjet cutting head uses proven hydro-abrasive cutting technology for reliable and efficient performance. Its well-engineered design includes a height sensor and anti-collision device, ensuring high-quality cuts and smooth, trouble-free operation.
