Introducing the Eckert Titan DrillCut Machine

The DrillCut machine is a state-of-the-art sheet metal processing center designed to deliver both precision and efficiency. By combining the latest thermal cutting and machining technologies, it ensures accurate hole drilling without causing material hardening.

With flexible configuration options, the DrillCut can be equipped with plasma and oxy-fuel cutting tools, along with the powerful VarioDrill drilling unit, which offers drilling, tapping, and countersinking capabilities. This makes it possible to carry out fully automated, end-to-end processing of components.

The VarioDrill unit is especially valuable when high drilling accuracy is needed, when the hole diameter is smaller than the material thickness, or when reducing the number of thermal piercings is a priority.

The Technology

VarioDrill Support

The system is designed to deliver maximum precision and consistency, thanks to advanced features like automatic calibration and continuous monitoring of tool wear during drilling. Integrated pneumatic clamping keeps materials stable, preventing movement and vibration, while incremental encoders precisely measure the distance between the sheet and the tool—ensuring top-quality drilling and tapping results. To further support efficiency and safety, a chip blow-off system maintains a clean workspace, and a dedicated operator safety guard provides reliable protection during operation.

Automatic Tool Changer

The six-tool magazine, equipped with an advanced exchange mechanism, automatically adapts to the machining process in real time. With a cavity occupancy detection sensor and seamless switching between drilling, tapping, and countersinking, the system operates without the need for operator intervention—delivering maximum efficiency and precision.

Dual Flex 3D Head

The Dual Flex 3D is a versatile tool with interchangeable torches, enabling both 3D plasma and oxy-fuel cutting. Torch changes take only a few seconds, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime. By using a single support for two cutting heads, the system expands the working area and broadens the range of cutting and bevelling options for sheet metal, pipes, and profiles. With unlimited rotation and a head angle deflection of ±52°, it greatly enhances efficiency—particularly when producing multiple elements from a single sheet.

HD 3000 Support

The Support HD3000 is designed to maximize the performance of state-of-the-art plasma torches. Its ball screw drive and high-torque servomotor provide exceptional control of the Z-axis, ensuring greater precision and dynamic responsiveness in torch movement. This guarantees the ideal distance between the cutting head and the material, delivering superior cutting quality.

Equipped with advanced sensors—including anti-collision, electrical/mechanical touch, and height detection—the Support HD3000 enables the use of cutting-edge technologies such as Contour Cut®, Contour Cut Speed®, Diameter Pro®, and True Hole®.

Oxygen Torch

The oxygen torch is designed for cutting structural low-carbon and low-alloy steel, offering reliable performance across a wide range of material thicknesses. It is equipped with a height sensor, automatic ignition, and a manual angle adjustment feature, ensuring flexibility, precision, and ease of use in diverse cutting applications.

Eckert i-Vision Controller

This modern industrial controller is built with a durable Corning® Gorilla® Glass touchscreen, designed to perform reliably even in harsh environments. Powered by advanced components and proprietary software with extensive features and an intuitive interface, it ensures full utilization of the machine’s capabilities while maintaining dependable operation.

For operator comfort, the controller is mounted on an adjustable arm with a height range of ±300 mm, improving ergonomics and making it easy to control and monitor the cutting process.
